Hard puzzles require 2+ line changes for the optimal route - the obvious single-change route won't be enough.

How scoring works
Wait times: the optimal route factors in the average wait for each line change, on top of walking time. Wait values come from TfL off-peak frequencies (Mon-Fri 10:00-15:00 timetable), and reflect how often a train that actually serves your destination turns up - so boarding for a branch the line only serves some of the time costs more than boarding the trunk. This keeps the "optimal" close to what a real Londoner would take: sometimes one more change saves time, sometimes it doesn't.
Hints: Hint 2 reveals the first letter of your first interchange station — a playful nudge toward the trickiest part of the puzzle without giving the whole route away. Hints 1 and 3 still show the lines at your start and end.
Puzzles refresh at midnight. Each change includes walking time + average wait for the next train (based on TfL off-peak frequencies). Same puzzles for everyone worldwide.
